ACLU sues for information on former Hawthorne man's detention

The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit today in federal court seeking information related to the detention of former Hawthorne resident Naji Hamdan in the United Arab Emirates.
The ACLU alleges the United States was involved in the capture and torture of Hamdan, who was held in the UAE for more than a year.
"My life was turned upside down," Hamdan said in an interview this morning from Lebanon, where he has been living since his release in October 2009. "It's important for me and my family to know why this happened."
