Take Action
The law is on your side! There are things students, parents and community groups can do about military recruiting in their public schools:
Send a letter to a school official.
This sample letter explains that students are allowed by law to opt out from military recruiting, and why school districts must honor the forms.
Make sure students get ALL the information.
This resolution would regulate military recruiters' access to high schools and ensure that students know their rights.
Make sure students aren't being targeted by recruiters.
Ask your school district to regulate the ASVAB test, protecting students from being coerced into taking a voluntary test.
Ask your school district to adopt an opt-out policy.
This proposed resolution would require school districts to accept student opt-out forms.
