Strategic Partnership Internship

Responsibilities:
Partnership Development:

  • Help in researching potential partnership opportunities among Southern California corporations, foundations and law firms.
  • Help in researching philanthropic family foundations with interest in funding civil liberties
  • Help in researching grant opportunities in Southern California, including specific grants for LGBT work
  • Help in conducting in depth researching into new fundraising market segments (youth, minority segments, etc.)

Events:
  • Help research venues and companies to obtain sponsorship of events
  • Help with outreach to potential sponsors and advertisers, including telephoning and emailing
  • Help coordinate graphic materials and marketing for events
  • Research and develop event possibilities in new fundraising markets

Misc.:
  • The position will also have its share of “busy” work, including filing and working with data

Qualifications:
  • 10-20 hours per week, between the hours of 9:30-5:30, Monday-Friday in our downtown office
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel is required.
  • Attention to detail, ability to take initiative and multitask are essential qualities
  • Willingness to work on major projects as well as “busy work” is necessary

Compensation:
  • This is an unpaid internship. We encourage you to use this internship to gain course credit and to seek out “work-study” grants with your college, if this is an option
