Jails Attorney
The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Southern California seeks an attorney with substantial trial and appellate litigation experience (minimum 5 years), with experience in jail and/or prison litigation preferred, to litigate major civil liberties/civil rights actions concerning the Los Angeles County jails and oversee the ongoing consent decree involving the Los Angeles County jails, the largest jail system in the country.
The attorney will also work on a related matter concerning the treatment of inmates with disabilities in the jails. Other job duties as assigned.
The attorney will actively participate in legislative and public education programs at the ACLU concerning jail and prison issues.
Being bi-lingual, particularly English-Spanish, is a substantial plus.
