ACLUnext: Join the next generation defending civil liberties.
Launched: July 28, 2010
This Action Expired: July 28, 2010
Description:
Do you think the color of your skin should make you suspect? Or that controversial protests should be illegal? Do you think that companies have the right to share your private data for commercial purposes? Well we don’t.
And we are looking for some like-minded people who want to learn about issues of privacy, freedom and equality in a relaxed, social setting. ACLUnext is for the modern civil rights advocate who believes in equality and wants to build the next movement through social media, informal salons and old-fashioned networking.
This inaugural event features Gerry Chaleff, LAPD special assistant for constitutional policing, and Ahilan Arulanantham, director, immigrants' rights and national security, ACLU/SC.
The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Wine and hors d'oeuvres provided.
What: Discussion about Arizona Law SB 1070.
When: 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 28.
Where: The ComedySportz Theater, 733 Seward St., Hollywood, 90038 (just north of Melrose, five blocks east of Highland).
RSVP: 213.977.5289 or send us an email.
