Build a Movement, Create a Chapter
Launched: June 4, 2010
This Action Expired: June 24, 2010
Description:
The ACLU of Southern California's efforts to protect civil rights, ensure privacy, and strengthen freedoms could not be accomplished without its regional chapter members. The chapters serve as extensions of the organization. They sponsor public forums, lobby local officials, and educate their local communities about pressing issues. The ACLU/SC currently has chapters in Orange County, Palm Springs, Pasadena, San Fernando, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Westside Los Angeles. Help raise a voice for civil rights and liberties, create a chapter and build a movement in your area. We are particularly interested in launching chapters in Hollywood, the Inland Empire, Kern County, Long Beach, Pomona, San Gabriel Valley, San Luis Obispo, and the South Bay. Come check out this season's upcoming chapter events on closing the education equity gap, expanding LGBT rights, and celebrating artistic expression. These events are free and open to the public. Find them below and help grow the movement for equality!
