No On Proposition 75
Proposition 75 would limit the ability of public employee unions to contribute to political campaigns by requiring unions to obtain written permission from members each year before directing money from their dues into political campaigns. This has been a very controversial proposition, with supporters of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger generally backing the measure, arguing that union members should not have their dues spent in ways they might not approve of, and opponents arguing that this is an attempt to weaken unions, many of whom have been vocal critics of Schwarzenegger’s policies.
