News Feeds / RSS
The ACLU of Southern California offers the following feeds:
http://www.aclu-sc.org/feeds/news.rss — a listing of our latest news releases.
http://www.aclu-sc.org/feeds/alerts.rss — an updated list of opportunities to take action and help make California and our country a place of greater freedom and equality.
What's a news feed?
A news feed (or RSS) is a document we publish every time we make an update to our website. This document is in a format called XML and is readable by using a feed reader.
A feed reader allows a person to be notified whenever a favorite website publishes new content. It is comparable to using email newsletters, because a user will typically check a feed reader in the same way a person might check email.
Using any of the most popular feed readers, you can enter one of the URLs listed above in order to start a feed subscription for our site. When we publish new content on our site, you will see a brief summary of that content in the feed reader as well as a link you can use to access that content.
There are so many feed readers freely available that it is difficult to recommend one in particular. Many people enjoy using Bloglines.com, so if you are new to the concept that is at least a good place to start off.
If you are searching Google for more info on the subject, feed readers are also referred to as RSS aggregators.
